2 HOW TO RUN

What follows is a sketch of the procedure that describes how to run
OpenMaTrEx.

To simplify, in the documentation that follows this command is
referred to as "OpenMaTrEx".

To use the examples that follow, replace "OpenMaTrEx" by the actual
command you need to run, for example
"/home/mikel/OpenMaTrEx-test/OpenMaTrEx-0.98/OpenMaTrEx".

1.1 Training

Here is the training sequence. Unless explicitly stated, a step is
common to Marclator and MaTrEx modes.

1. Create a working directory. In this directory, create a
subdirectory 'orig' to store your training and test data: train.S and
train.T, and testset.S and testset.T, where S denotes the source
language and T the target language. If you plan to use MERT to
optimize the Moses weights (in MaTrEx mode), you will also need a
devset.S file and a devset.T file. Each source file and its target
counterpart must have the same number of lines (one sentence per
   line).

NOTE: OpenMaTrEx has been tested on tokenized and lowercased files having
no zero-word sentences nor sentences that are too long. To tokenize a
file, you may use the script tokenizer/tokenizer.perl in the Moses
scripts directory scripts-YYYYMMDD-HHMM. To filter sentences for length,
you may use the file training/clean-corpus-n.perl, which may also be used
to tokenize them at the same time.
